The adult dosage ranges from 1 to 4 g daily in divided doses. The usual adult dose is 250 mg every 6 hours. For the following infections, a dosage of 500 mg may be administered every 12 hours: streptococcal pharyngitis, skin and skin structure infections, and uncomplicated cystitis in patients over 15 years of age.

vasodilator. can cause cardiac arrythmia, ischemia.
Protamine
10 mg IV SLOWLY over 10 min

approx 10mg per 1000u heparin. use with caution if pt has history of NPH insulin use.

Rapid administration may cause dyspnea, bradycardia, flushing, warm feeling, severe hypotension, hypertension.

Half-life is shorter than heparin.

Rocephin (cephtriaxone)
1 g IV for prophylaxis
The usual adult daily dose is 1 to 2 grams given once a day (or in equally divided doses twice a day) depending on the type and severity of infection.
Sotradechol (STS)

comes as 1% and 3%

for spiders - 0.25%
for reticular - 0.25-0.5 for larger veins%
for large varicosities - 0.5%
foam- use 1% and foam 1:4 parts air.

Vasopressin
IA infusion, 0.1 - 0.4u/min
start at 0.2 U/min x 30 minutes. repeat angio, if bleeding stopped, continue for 12 - 24 hours. o/w, give 0.4 U/min x 30 minutes repeat angio if stopped, taper over next 24 hours.
Zofran (ondansetron)
8 mg PO q 12H prn
